About Me
I am a writer, teacher, and photographer based out of Anchorage, Alaska. I specialize in landscape and wildlife photography. My photography work has previously been featured on commercial websites and web publications. I offer an assortment of prints through FAA. I also work with clients to create custom orders on various mediums. My photo "Texas Dreams" was featured in the Artists of Texas 2015 Rural Texas Photography show. My poem “Embers” was published in Issue 21 of Really System.
I have a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas and a M.Ed. from the University of Mary. My photography work started as a hobby and slowly grew into a small business as interest in my work grew. I enjoy landscape photography because it brings me out of myself and allows me to appreciate a moment of beauty from new dimensions. I hope to capture beautiful colors, surprising contrast, and moments of transcendence with the lens and transfer their gift of peace and serenity to those who view them. Poetry often fills my mind while I shoot. If you explore this site you will find famous poems paired with some of the photos and the occasional blog entry.
"Beauty is simply reality itself, perceived in a special way that gives it a resplendent value of its own." - Thomas Merton
